Larry Flynn has joined Pope Flynn, a Columbia-based law firm concentrating in public finance, government, and utilities law, as of counsel in the firm’s government law practice. Flynn will work out of Pope Flynn’s newly-established Spartanburg office at 421 Marion Avenue.With a career spanning more than 35 years and combining public sector law with a general civil practice, Flynn has served business clients, municipalities, water districts, and electric cooperatives in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, as well as throughout the Upstate. He is a certified mediator and arbitrator, a Planning Commission Instructor, and received both his BS and JD degrees from the University of South Carolina.

Flynn serves as Chair and trustee of Spartanburg County School District Seven, as well as a member of the advisory board of the Palmetto Bank, a member of the S. C. Bar’s “Memory Hold the Door” committee, and a 30-year member of the Spartanburg Rotary Club.
With offices in Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, and Spartanburg, SC, Pope Flynn represents government agencies, public utilities, cities and towns, counties, water and sewer districts, hospitals, school districts, state institutions and other public entities particularly in creating cost-effective and secure structures for financing important projects.
